Microsoft introduced a new expansion of their Xbox Design Lab feature for Xbox controllers, and I was tasked with creating some fluid effects using X-Particles. Initially the request started out as paint splatters revealing the colors, but eventually it progressed into just straight particles as the client wanted a more "pixelated" look. I did particle sims and particle renders only for this project. To make it easier to address color choices from the client, everything was rendered as grayscale. This allowed comp to alter color schemes quickly to match footage that was not locked and kept changing daily. you can read more about the product announcement here.
